Super helpful seeing this timeline of models. Any thoughts on “true” 24 hour models vs the 12/24 hybrids? I own a 1960's Glycine Airman Special that I really like.
Thanks for the comment! I tend to prefer the 24 hour “purists” since this is what the Airman format was created to accommodate. On the other hand, some of the models work really well in the more typical GMT format. My favorite model for a GMT is the SST-12 and that’s one of the few that I currently own. The DC-4 and World Traveler are also fun GMTs. Even though I prefer the purists for their historical connection, I think it’s fun that the GMT option is there for most models. Also, the GMT has one advantage in that it displays a third time zone.
